Cars Made in Indonesia From Pindad, This is Its Ability

 PT Pindad is a subsidiary of Len Industri which is engaged in the production of defense equipment. The company has two factories, namely in Bandung and in Turen. To support its business activities, the company also has two representative offices in Jakarta.

Maung, a military-style car made by PT Pindad, has been sold to the public in Indonesia.  PT Pindad produced Maung with two versions, namely the military version and the civilian version. The two versions have a number of the most important differences, namely that there is no complete weaponry, besides GPS devices and vehicle trackers.

President Director of PT Pindad (Persero) Abraham Mose said that his party began to open a faucet for ordering the civil version of Maung 4x4. This certainly brings certainty, especially for the potential consumers who already want a light tactical vehicle (rants) that is thick with this military style.

Maung itself uses an engine base from Toyota Hilux with a cylinder capacity of 2,494 cc turbo diesel 16 Valve DOHC. Maung has a maximum turning radius of 13.7 meters. Its maximum speed reaches 120 kilometers per hour. To support travel, its fuel tank capacity is designed to be able to accommodate 80 liters of diesel fuel.

From the data on paper, this engine can produce a power of 149 to, while for the torque it is 400 Nm.

The power is channeled through a six-speed manual transmission to the 4WD drive system with a rear differential lock.

So what is the price offered by the state-owned company for the civilian version of Maung 4x4? Answering this, Abraham only said the price tag so far is still in the form of a range.

"It will be confirmed later in June, but the civilian version of Maung's range is still the same, around Rp 600 million to Rp 700 million. Later it will also depend on the custom desired by consumers," Abraham said when contacted by Kompas.com, Monday (17/5/ 2021).
